What is the purpose of Twitter Card?

With Twitter Cards, you can attach rich photos, videos and media experience to Tweets that drive traffic to your website. Simply add a few lines of HTML to your webpage, and users who Tweet links to your content will have a “Card” added to the Tweet that’s visible to all of their followers.

What are the different types of cards?

  1. Summary Card: Title, description, thumbnail, and Twitter account attribution.
  2. Summary Card with Large Image: Similar to a Summary Card, but with a prominently featured image.
  3. App Card: A Card to detail a mobile app with direct download.
  4. Player Card: A Card to provide video/audio/media.

How can we get started with Twitter Card?

To get started with implementing the Cards markup, you’ll want to specify the type of card for your content by adding the following HTML to the HEAD section of your page:

How many cards can we have per page?

Only one card per-page is supported.

What are different attributions?

Attribution Description Is Required
twitter:site @username for the website used in the card footer. Y
twitter:creator @username for the content creator / author. N

What are the steps for using Twitter Card?

  1. Create the card by adding appropriate meta tags to the page
  2. Validate the page
  3. Tweet the URL of the page.
