DP&M translation:
Praise to the source of all things.
It is due to you that we attain true happiness
on the planes of earth, astral, causal.
It is due to your transcendent nature
that you are worthy of being worshipped and adored.
Ignite us with your all pervading light.
We meditate on the glory of the Creator;
Who has created the Universe;
Who is worthy of Worship;
Who is the embodiment of Knowledge and Light;
Who is the remover of Sin and Ignorance;
May He open our hearts and enlighten our Intellect.
Let Love Lead
May Happiness Prevail
And Allow Peace To Settle Upon Us.
Thank You.
We have been, we are, and we will be a part of this glarious universe. Then, there is no need to ever feel alone when we are singing inside and we are surrounded by the Beautiful One who does not have a beginning.
Then, there is no need to ever feel alone when we are singing inside and we are surrounded by the Beautiful One who does not have a beginning." into "… the Beautiful One who does not have a beginning nor end.
“The Gayatri Mantra is said to be the oldest and most powerful of mantras, being thousands of years old. It was originally shared in the Rig Veda (think 1700–1100 BC.) This mantra is known to impart wisdom, understanding, and enlightenment. It purifies the person chanting it as well as the listener as it creates a tangible sense of well being in whoever comes across it. Translated, it means “May all beings on earth reach enlightenment,” but as with all mantras, the meaning of the Sanskrit words isn’t as important as the effect the vibrations of the words have on the body and energy centers” – Deva Premal
But if conceptual translation leaves you scratching your head, how about this translation from Swami Vivekananda? “We meditate on the glory of that Being who has produced this universe; may He enlighten our minds.” Even simpler, is Deva Premal’s translation “May all beings reach enlightenment.”
This is the gayatri mantra, one of the most powerful mantras in the Vedas and one of the few main mantras for liberation from illusion as well as the maha mantra that can take us home and set the spirit free.
